Qoboshiya replaces Prince as CSA tiol selector

Johannesburg, Oct 24: Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Monday appointed Lux Qoboshiya as an independent tiol selector of the board replacing former Test batsman Ashwell Prince.

Qoboshiya, who is currently the acting convener of the Warriors franchise selection committee, was appointed for a two-year period after serving on the Border and Warriors selection panel. He played for Border before the two sides came together to form the present entity.

"On behalf of the cricket family I extend congratulations and good wishes to Lux on his appointment," Haroon Lorgat, CSA chief executive said.

"He takes on an important job and has the necessary experience to be a worthy selector after having served both at provincial and franchise levels. He can also draw on his experience as a former player," he added.

The current selection panel comprises four independent selectors plus the Proteas head coach, mely Linda Zondi (Convener), Errol Stewart, Hussein Mack, Lux Qoboshiya and Russell Domingo.

Prince, who travelled with the South Africa A side to Australia, both as a selector and coach has decided to take up coaching on a long term basis. He has moved to Buildt Cape Cobras as an assistant coach earlier last month. IANS
