Quami Ekta Week begins in Silchar

Silchar: Northeast Frontier Railway (NF Railway) is observing ‘Quami Ekta Week’ (National Integration Week) to foster and reinforce the strength of public harmony and national integration. The observance has started on Monday and will continue till November 25.

The week long celebration aims to reaffirm the old traditions, culture and faiths in worth of tolerance and brotherhood. It also assists in highlighting the inherent strength and flexibility of the country to maintain the communal harmony. As part of the celebration a pledge taking ceremony was held at the Maligaon railway headquarters complex, where officers and staff of NF Railway pledged for settlement of all differences and disputes relating to religion, language, region or other political or economic grievances by peaceful and constitutional means. Quami Ekta Pledge was administered by Sanjive Roy, general manager, NF Railway.

The officers and staff of Northeast Frontier Railway Construction Organization are observing Quami Ekta Week. In this regard, they too took a pledge to work with dedication to preserve and strengthen the freedom and integrity of the nation, never resort to violence, continuous endeavour towards settlement of all differences and disputes relating to religion, language, region or other political or economic grievances by peaceful and constitutional means. The pledge was administered by Anand Prakash, CAO/Con-2/NF Railway, Construction, today at the premises of the headquarters.
