Question paper leak: Teacher's body meets MBoSE officials

SHILLONG, Nov 27: Concerned over the reports of leakages of questions papers school teachers under the banner of Khasi Jaiñtia Deficit School Teachers Association (KJDSTA) today met MBoSE Officials even as it warned of a “Bihar like situation” it no remedial measures are taken.

“The leakage of question papers is portraying the image of our state in bad light. We do not want a Bihar-like situation in our state,” leaders of the teachers association told reporters after their meeting with the board officials. Leaders of the KJDSTA today met, MBoSE executive chairman, EP Kharbhih and urged him to not only merely assist in framing the question papers for the class IX examitions but to be involved in the whole process.

It may be noted that, the board since 2013 had introduced common question papers for Class IX and Class XI interl promotion examitions conducted interlly by schools registered with MBOSE.

KJDSTA president, ED Nongsiang informed reporters that it has placed certain suggestions before the board to adopt strong mechanisms to prevent malpractices during examitions. The KJDSTA said that if the board is uble to take up the responsibility of conducting the promotion exam for class-IX such exercise should be left with the schools.

It may be mentioned that MBoSE has filed three separate FIRs against persons involved in the leakage of Class IX questions papers. The Board has also rescheduled the routine for the Science & Technology subject, which was allegedly leaked, from November 30 to December 4.
