Rabindra-Nazrul Janmo Jayanti celebrated by Chotto Prochesta: Assam

Silchar, July 16: A record has been created by Chotto Prochesta, an NGO which has been working relentlessly for the uplift of the humankind without bothering for the limelight. The 3 day gala event cum competition titled ‘Rabindra-Nazrul Janmo Jayanti’ commemorating Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore and revolutionary poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, organized by the NGO, which ended on a high note on Wednesday, saw the highest number of participants in its competition section. A total number of 381 competitors took part in the competition which was conducted in 4 categories, Rabindra Sangeet, Rabindra Nritya, Nazrul Geeti and Nazrul Nritya. The event cum competition was held at Netaji Vidya Bhawan Girls’ High School.

All the participants who have come from different places of Cachar were well in tune and kept the audience spellbound and thrilled them with their acumen. Child artistes, invited guests and others together made the event soulful and poignant. The efforts of the NGO brought forth some extra ordinary talents to the forefront. All the participants were handed over certificate of appreciation. Tapash Shankar Deb, a legendary figure of music and culture, was felicitated at the occasion. The organizers saved the best for the last and enthralled the audience. Artistes which comprise singers, reciters and dancers, Sunipa Suklabaidya, Mandira Ghosh among others performed exceedingly well.

Performers of Gouriya Nritya Kala Bharatiya, Shruti Music Academy and Sangeet Kala Mahavidyalaya took the event to a celestial level. ADC Biresh Chandra Nath and executive director of the Sankha Group of Publications, media baron Nilotpaul Choudhury, who handed over various certificates and prizes, praised the NGO for its relentless service towards the uplift of the humankind. The programme ended on a vote of thanks by Rajib Choudhury, advisor to the NGO.
