Rabindra, zrul Jayanti celebrated

Dibrugarh, May 30: Under the aegis of Nikhil Bharat Bongo Xahitya Sanmilan (NBBXS), the birth anniversary of Kobiguru Rabindra th Tagore and Kobi zrul Islam, were celebrated, here, at Sanskritiki Auditorium at Biraj Ashram on May 28.

The celebrations of Rabindra and zrul Jayanti, kicked off with the presentation of a chorus titled ‘Moder Gaurov, Moder Aasha’. The senior members of NBBXS, Dilip Chakraborty and Tuhin Bagchi lighted lamps before the portraits of both the poets.

The president of NBBXS, Khitish Roy, while welcoming all gave a brief speech on the objective of the meeting. Roy in his speech emphasized on holding talks, which helped in throwing light on the work and contribution of Nobel Laureate Rabindra th Tagore and revolutiory poet, Kazi zrul Islam.

Alaka Bagchi in her deliberation, dwelt at length on Rabindrath Tagore as a man, while secretary of NBBXS Ajit Pal, threw light on the life and works of poet zrul.

To mark the celebrations, young artistes performed dances, songs besides reciting poems of both the poets. Songs were presented by Riya ndi, Riya Saha and Sayantan Choudhury, while Urika Chakraborty performed Rabindra Nritya. Similarly, Parashar Dutta and Surojit Dutta recited poems of kabi zrul. All the artistes received thunderous applause from the audiences. Beautiful programmes were held which included presentation of zrul Geet by Tanushree Roy, Aditya Pal and Boishyospayon Bhowmick.
