Railway Safety Commissioner inspects newly converted BG Line

GUWAHATI, Jan 1: Shailesh Pathak, Commissioner of Railway Safety, Northern Circle, New Delhi who is also looking after the work of CRS, N.F.Circle, Kolkata inspected the newly converted B.G. line from New Mal to Changrabandha on December 29 and December 30  of Alipurduar Division. On Tuesday (December 29) he conducted a Motor Trolley inspection from New Mal to Domohani and on Wednesday (December 30) from Domohani to Changrabandha. The CRS conducted a speed trial run by CRS Special from Changrabandha to New Mal at a maximum speed of 115 to 119 kmph. This line from New Mal to Changrabandha has ten stations including three halt stations, 8 major bridges, 41 minor bridges, 11 road under bridges (RUBs) & 23 manned level crossing gates.

The CRS, N.F.Circle was accompanied by Surinder Pal, Chief Administrative Officer/Con-2, Sanjiv Kishore, Divisiol Railway Mager, Alipurduar and other senior railway officials of construction and open line during the inspection. After completion of the trolley inspection and speed trial, Pathak announced that the track is fit for a speed of 100 kmph and he will issue the authorization to this effect after reaching his headquarters. This was stated in a press release.
