Rain creates havoc at Aalo

ITAGAR, June 22: Due to continuous rain for the last couple of days, the town dwellers of Aalo in West Siang district are facing problems of erosions and water loggings while rivers and rivulets are flowing high to make extensive damages to paddy fields.  The APEDA office and many households at New Siyom Colony located opposite side of Airfield are inundated at ground level in the absence of draige system after the construction of new Airfield at Aalo, an official communiqué informed here today.

Erosions have taken place in government and private establishments posing threat to various infrastructures.

The Wak Yomcha road was also reported to be blocked due to landslide. The water level of Sipu and Yomgo River are rising alarmingly and district administration has directed public announcements for people to take utmost precautions.

The team of officials headed DDMO Nima Dorjee is constantly monitoring all vulnerable locations, the communiqué added.
