Rain disturbs Assam-galand tie, Sikkim beat AP in T Ao soccer

GUWAHATI, April 24: galand are on the verge to earn a berth in the semi fil of the T Ao Soccer championship after their game against Assam abandoned at the fag end because of heavy shower. The game was 87 minutes old when referee stop the game and galand were leading by a solitary goal that time which was scored by Senti Yanger in the 12th minutes. The rain started to disturb the game in the second half and one time it was impossible to continue the match as storm swept over the Indira Gandhi Athletic stadium. A couple of galand players were injured during that time because of flying objects. The match official informed The Sentinel that remaining three minutes and 5 minutes added time of the game will be held tomorrow morning at 9 am.  

Meanwhile Sikkim defeated Aruchal Pradesh 1-0 in the other match of the day. The win helped the side to stay in the contention for the last four berth. If galand lose point tomorrow against Assam than it is Sikkim who will earn a berth in the semi fil.

Sikkim played attacking soccer today and created plenty of opportunities in the first 45 minutes of the game but maged to score only once. The game was 40 minutes old when Sanjay Chetri's full blooded shot from inside the box went into the goal without giving any chance to opponent goalkeeper.

Aruchal Pradesh also tried to give good reply to Sikkim in the game and they came close thrice to score but all the opportunities were wasted. The easiest opportunity was wasted by Gubenson Drai whose shot missed the target by a whisker.
