Raising Day celebrated

SHILLONG, April 23: 52nd Raising Day of 101 Area was celebrated with traditiol military elan and fervor on April 22. Headquarters 101 Area was raised in 1963; initially med as Headquarters 101 Communication Zone, for provision of logistic support to the field formations which had moved to the North East Region in the wake of the Chinese Aggression in 1962. Earlier in the day Lieutent General SP wathe, General Officer Commanding, 101 Area, along with other officers, paid homage to the martyrs at the war memorial followed by a Sainik Sammelan.
