Raising Day of 2nd Assam Police Battalion Observed in Tinsukia, Assam

TINSUKIA: The 66th Raising Day of 2nd Assam Police Battalion Makum in Tinsukia district was observed on Wednesday at its unit HQ with ceremonial programme. The day-long programme began with garlanding at martyrs’ column by the Commandant of the battalion, Singha Ram Mili which was followed by inspection of parade. In his speech, Mili spoke at length about the contribution and sacrifice of the battalion in tackling border disputes and other law-and-order problems.

Sanjay Kishan, MLA of Tinsukia, was present as guest of honour, who along with the Commandant, planted few tree saplings within the premises. A friendly football match, community feast, cultural show, illumination by Mortal Signal and display of parachute bomb were held in the evening.
