GUWAHATI, Nov 8: Former hard hitting batsman of Assam Rajesh Bora today congratulated Rishav Pant for breaking his 28 year’s old Ranji Trophy championship record. Rishav today scored the fastest century in Ranji Trophy which was on the me of Rajesh Bora. Talking to The Sentinel Rajesh today said, ”Records are meant to be broken. I am happy to see that Pant, a terrific batsman, today removed me from the record book. I congratulate him and also wish him very best for future.”
It may be mentioned here that Rajesh Bora, rrowly missed the bus of Team India, took only 56 balls to score the fastest century in Ranji Trophy history against Tripura in 1988 at NFRSA stadium, Maligaon. He hit 11 boundaries and same number of over boundaries, four of which came on consecutive balls, before got out 126 (62balls, 83 minutes) runs.
