Rajkhowa mourns death of jawans in Manipur ambush

Itagar, May 23: Aruchal Pradesh Governor Jyoti Prashad Rajkhowa today mourned the death of six Assam Rifles personnel, who were killed in an ambush in Chandel district of Manipur near the Indo-Myanmar border on Sunday. Expressing deep condolences on behalf of the people of the State, the governor in a message said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the members of the bereaved families at this difficult time. The people of the North East will always remember the ultimate sacrifice of these brave personnel of the ‘Friends of the Hill People’.” Severely condemning the incident, the Rajkhowa emphasized that all steps should be taken to bring the perpetrators to justice, a Raj Bhawan communiqué informed.
