Rakitic rejoins Barça group training on day of anti-doping tests

Barcelona, April 19: Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic, who underwent surgery for a broken left finger, rejoined the team practice on Thursday, during which several players underwent anti-doping tests.

After the session, Barça officially announced that Rakitic has received medical clearance and therefore would be available to play the Copa del Rey final against Sevilla on Saturday, reports Efe.

The Croat's left finger was broken during the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Roma and he had to undergo surgery on April 11.

Barça players Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Gerard Pique, Andres Iniesta, Lionel Messi, Paulinho, Jordi Alba, Lucas Digne, Andre Gomes and Thomas Vermaelen have undergone blood tests conducted by the Spanish anti-doping agency AEPSAD.

In addition, defender Samuel Umtiti underwent blood and urine tests.

All available players of the first team participated in the training session, along with Barcelona B midfielder Carles Aleña. IANS
