Rally in Orang against growing incidents of crime against women

TANGLA, April 1:  The students of different colleges and schools took out a massive protest rally on the streets of Orang in Udalguri district on Saturday in protest against growing incidents of crime against women in the State. The programme, held under the aegis of Kalaguru Bishnu Rabha Degree College Students’ Union, was joined by students of NRDS Junior College, Orang HS School, Saraswati English School, Eureka English School, Sankardeva Shishu Niketan and activists of various student organizations. The protesters holding placards formed a human chain and proceeded throughout the Orang Chariali.

 During the rally, the protestors shouted slogans against crimes against women and demanded capital punishment for rapists. Participating in the rally, Rajiv Pal, general secretary of Kalaguru Bishnu Rabha Degree College Students’ Union, exhorted the student fraternity and the society in general to join hands against the anti-social elements deterring the progress of society.
