Rangsina Sarpo Film Award function in Diphu

Diphu: The 8th Rangsina Sarpo Film and Folk Artiste Award, 2019 organized by the Department of Cultural Affairs, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, will be held on February 11 at the Arboretum-cum-craft open stage. This was announced by KAAC EM Rupsing Teron, i/c Art and Culture, during a press meet on Thursday.

Teron said, “Every year the KAAC takes initiative to encourage and promote Karbi youths in the field of entertainment by giving away the Rangsina Sarpo Film and Folk Artiste Award. The films which have been nominated for the award need to be placed before the screening committee and final selection will be done by the selection committee of the Rangsina Sarpo Film Award with Chitra Kr Bey as chairman and six other members.” “This year we have total 21 categories of award like best film, best playback singer (male and female), best lyricist and best choreographer. KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang will grace the event as chief guest,” he added. The award winners will be felicitated with a trophy, certificate and cash.
