From a Correspondent

GAON (HAIBORGAON), Feb 19: At a party meeting held on Sunday at the Khagen Mahanta auditorium in gaon town, BJP State president Ranjit Das urged the party’s grassroots workers to strengthen the party.

Addressing the meeting he said, “Change never comes fast, rather it comes slowly and it will come through various evolutions.” Referring to the activities of the present BJP-led State Government, Das said that through the State Government social changes also took turn in Assam. “The main foundation of a political party is its booth committees and when these booth committees are strengthened, only then the block or district or State committee will be strong. For me, the president of a booth committee is not less than the president of a district committee,” he further added.

Pointing out the sacrifices made by the former BJP workers, he said that present party leaders as well as other workers should give respect to the senior party workers and similarly they should love the junior workers. Only then the party could go ahead and achieve its goal. He further said that the total population was 3.25 crore out of which 1. 8 crore people had the right to vote and BJP would bring all these 1.98 crore people to its favour as workers and only then the party would reach to its goal.

On the other hand, slamming the Congress, Das stated that the Congress arranged Ja Beda meetings in the entire State, but it was not exactly ‘Ja Beda’, rather ‘Monu Beda Sabha’ of Congress. He said that Assam was poor in work culture and out of 365 days, the people of Assam spent 165 days unnecessarily and for that the BJP should make people of the State aware. Union Minister of State for Railways, Rajen Gohain, MLAs Rupak Sarma and, Dimbeswar Das were present in the meeting.
