Rape attempt: BTC Federation demands punishment against accused

KALAIGAON, May 5: An attempt to allegedly rape a minor girl of village Garuwajhar under Paneri police station was made on May 3 in her empty house by a 40-year old man. According to report, Danech Ali (40), an inhabitant of village Niz Garuwajhar tried to rape the 11-year daughter of Amar Das of village Garuwajhar on May 3 in the absence of the family members but the victim somehow maged to escape. Later an FIR was lodged against Danech Ali and a case has been registered under section 6/8 POCSO Act 2012 in Paneri police station. Meanwhile, Paneri police also arrested the accused person in the evening of May 4 and sent him to Udalguri Jail. However, All BTC Bengali Youth-Student Federation made a demand for exemplary punishment to the accused person.
