Rare turtle recovered

GAURISAGAR, June 13: Gaurisagar police on Sunday night during patrolling, recovered one endangered tortoise in front of Gaurisagar weekly market Tiniali. Later Dulu Borah, Office in-charge of the police station kept it in police custody and soon informed the district forest department. On Monday morning, in presence of Poresh Dutta, Assistant Bit Officer, Bit Office, Amguri and president, secretary and assistant secretary of Gaurisagar Press Club, Podum Kumar Saikia, Rajib Dutta and Sankarjyoti Saikia respectively, officer in-charge and other police staff of the police station, the turtle was released in the Gaurisagar Tank.
