Rashtriya Ekta Divas, Rashtriya Sankalp Divas observed

Haflong, Nov 1: The tiol Day for Unity, also termed as Rashtriya Ekta Divas’, was observed by the Dima Hasao district administration at Haflong on Tuesday along with rest of the country to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India for his contribution towards the country. A pledge was also taken for unity among all and to believe in love and harmony without any division of caste and creed. The programme started with the flagging off of the unity run by the Executive Member of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council, Kulendra Daulagupu and  in presence of Executive Member Ihuing Pame, Deputy Commissioner Deva Jyoti Hazarika, Superintendent of Police Ankur Jain, ADCs Jidung, Devsharma and Assistant Commissioner Doley and other government officials.

The run started from the entrance of Cultural Institute Hall till the Council Rotary and back. Around 300 people took part in the walk. Other people who spoke on the occasion were EM Ihuing Pame, SP Ankur Jain and representatives from the various apex bodies. Rashtriya Sankalp Divas to commemorate the death anniversary of former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi was also observed by offering of floral tribute to the former Prime Minister at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner at Haflong. All officers and staff of the district administration attended the programme and paid homage to mark the occasion.
