Ready to tackle H1N1: Nishing

Itagar, April 3: The whole country is terrorized under the influence of Swine Flu which has already engulfed the northeastern state like Assam and Manipur. However, Aruchal Pradesh seems away from the swine flu radar till now. Director of Health Service, K Nishing informed that swine flu is an airborne decease it infects similarly like other flu’s do. “It can be controlled by maintaining awareness on our own. However, if someone is found positive in the test, our doctors are ready to treat it,” he disclosed. When questioned about the reason behind not organizing awareness programmes, the Director informed that the department does not want to create havoc around the state while citing the example of the last chaos over the news of Japanese Encephalitis. Nishing stated that the chaos which was seen the last year because of the Japanese encephalitis was out of control where, every people of the state took the vaccition, which was actually not required.

“We tried to stop the vaccition but the people where not ready to because they were afraid and this time we don’t want similar issues on swine flu, he added.      

“We have been preparing our self from February last to fight against swine flu and we have our vigilance officers stationed in every district hospital to seek positive report and if anyone found infected, we will get the report immediately so that we can act as fast as possible to stop that virus”, he lamented.

Nishing further informed that the Centre has supplied sufficient medicines for the state and has assured to help in every possibility, adding that if anyone found infected he must not panic the state hospitals are fully prepared and medicine and treatment is also free of cost.

Regarding the recent ban on pork selling Nishing exerted that eating pork will not infect anyone and it was just a hauler of virus, but before eating the pork it should be cooked properly which will kill the virus instantly.

Appealing to the people of the state to maintain calm about rumors and confirming that the department is fully prepared the Director added, “Though our state is still away from, we cannot take it easily, as we all know that recently the railway services has also started which connects us directly to Delhi were people are dying every day due to the disease.”
