GUWAHATI, June 5: In a letter addressed to the veteran Congressman and the former President of India Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Ripun Bora pleaded to reconsider his decision to attend the RSS conference scheduled on June 7 at Nagpur.

Bora in his letter to Mukherjee said, “You are going to attend the meeting of such an organization which never respects the national flag of our country. This is the organization which is propagating the idea of one nation one religion. This is the organization that is responsible for unabated growing of social and religious intolerance and politics of religious polarization during these four years of misrule of BJP Govenrment.” Bora speculated that the veteran Congressman’s presence in the conference will have far reaching repercussions and negative impact in the socio political scenario of India.
