Red Cross Day observed

SILCHAR, May 11: The Intertiol Red Cross Day was observed at Red Cross Hospital, Silchar. The day-long programme commemorated Sir Henry Dunt and his life and contributions were discussed at length. S. Viswathan, Deputy Commissioner of Cachar who is also the chairman of Red Cross Society, graced the occasion. Programmes began with the hoisting of the Flag by the Deputy Commissioner. He also gave floral tribute to the statue of Sir Henry Dunt. Dr Akhil Chandra Paul, a Good Samaritan who has been treating patients without any costs, Dilip Kar and Haran Dey, writer and jourlist, and others were present on the day. Red Cross Hospital has a team of very expert, efficient and extraordiry doctors that serves its patients throughout the day and night. There are various departments and the hospital has been updating their services by adding some of the latest techniques, tools and surgical instruments.
