Ree Devi lifts women singles title

GUWAHATI, Dec 25: N Ree Devi from Manipur lifted women singles title in the Aurobindo Buragohain Inter Media Badminton Championship defeating Aru Chanu in the fil held at Hatigarh Chariali indoor stadium here today. Ree, in a one sided fil, defeated Chanu (DDK) 2-0. In the men’s section Bikramjit Singh of Manipur entered into the fil defeating Mab Bora of Prag Channel in the first semi fil. The second semi fil will be held tomorrow between Ibobi Singh of Manipur and Pranjal Sarma from News Live. Meanwhile Manipur shutters, who domited on the first day of the meet, also helped their side to earn a berth in the fil of team event where they will face Prag Channel. All remaining matches of the championship will be held tomorrow. Earlier the meet was iugurated by Gautam Mahanta, the joint secretary of the Assam Badminton Association.
