'Release PDS payments immediately'

ITAGAR, Jan 6: All Aruchal Pradesh PDS, Transporters Welfare Association (AAPPDSTWA) today demanded the Home Minister to immediately release PDS payments under Hill Transport Subsidy (HTS) scheme to genuine contractors.

AAPPDSTWA has also demanded arrest of “self-styled presidents and secretaries” of organizations formed overnight opposing the payments, especially Tame Phassang, Lokam Tassar, Kipa Kam, Toko Obi, Tai Taley, Biri Kakum and their associates. The association further demanded immediate inquiry into misuse of official position by Lokam Tassar as parliamentary secretary for food & civil supplies and tax and excise during 2009 to 2014, and against Tame Phassang for mismagement of funds under Bamboo Mission as its chairman during Dorjee Khandu government,

Claiming that the PDS network is collapsing due to non-payments of bills under HTS, it said that the state government should uphold its cabinet decision of 2 November 2015, wherein it decided to make part payments and thereafter claim re-imbursement from the government of India.
