Silchar, June 22: Chotto Prochesta, a Silchar based NGO, has been working for the uplift of poor and needy people without bothering for limelight. But, their way of working stands out from others. Members of the NGO not only distributed relief items to the inmates of a relief camp of Shyamacharan Deb Vidyapith, Tarapur, Silchar, but also held an awareness camp regarding the importance of taking preemptive measures post flood. Flood victims are vulnerable to a host of diseases. Chotto Prochesta distributed soaps, medicines and dry foods among 201 inmates of the relief camp.
Chotto Prochesta also ventured to provide pure and safe drinking water for the relief camp dwellers. The quantity of water distributed is likely to last for a month for each member of every family. Advisor Bikramjit Chakraborty, president Purnendu Das and others present advised people to take preventive measures to avoid breakout of deadly diseases post flood.
