Rented rooms reduced to ashes, Itanagar

Itanagar: At least six rented rooms, including a shop room, have been reduced to ashes in Dokum Colony, Itanagar on Monday evening.

Though no casualty has been reported, properties worth lakhs of the tenants were reportedly lost in the fire accident, which included documents and books of students. According to onlookers, one LPG cylinder also exploded.

Meanwhile, the owner of the rent house has been identified as one Tai Tasuk. "As soon as we got information about the incident, Fire and Emergency team rushed to the spot with fire tenders," informed officer In-charge of fire station, Itanagar, Koj Taro. He added that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
