Joysagar, May 21: The Superintendent of Police, Sivasagar, SK Sonowal reserved closed a female constable of Assam Police on Friday by an immediate order following the allegation of involvement in a fraudulent act. As per information, woman constable Firuza Begam, with the help of Sivasagar Bar typist Mohan Kakoti and Amiruddin, another fraudster of Hanhchara under Cherekapara of the town, had allegedly taken a sum of 10 lakh from an unemployed girl of Gaurisagar few months ago. The gang took the sum, promising her to give a permanent job in the ONGC office, Sivasagar. But finally the unemployed girl, identified as one Rupa Tamuli, was able to understand that she had been duped. She demanded that her money be returned but the gang refused. Rupa formally lodged a complaint before Sivasagar SP on Friday and acting on this complaint, the Sivasagar Superintendent of Police reserved closed the accused female constable and also directed one Sub-Inspector of Sivasagar PS to investigate the case.
