GUWAHATI, July 22: The residents of Ward No 24 covering Narengi, Mathgharia and Geetanagar are not directly hit by water logging problem that is almost common in various other wards. As per a release, on being separated by a hillock from the flash flood prone Chandmari, the residents of Mathgharia and Geetangar face the problem of communication with Chandmari and Zoo Road submerged.

Again insufficient street light, coupled with drivers of tankers and trucks parking their vehicles in the Mathgharia area having a busy time after dusk, the women folk feel highly insecure to move through the area after sunset, as per the release. On the other hand, the counselor puts the blame for insufficient street light on the residents of Mathgharia. As per the release, the residents expressed their refusal towards Project Jyoti scheme of the GMC.
