Residents urge Tinsukia MLA to address public grievances

TINSUKIA, June 27: Water logging and unplanned drainage system under ward no. 7 of Tinsukia Municipality have created serious problem for the residents of Parbotia Feeder Road. A few leading women residents of the locality expressed their anguish to Sanjay Kishan, MLA of Tinsukia, when he visited the locality on Wednesday morning to inaugurate a connecting road. Lina Borah, Dr Ashima Borah and Anjali Baruah raised the issues among others. Though they appreciated the works of Sanjay Kishan, they urged upon him to look into public inconveniences.

Following request from the residents, the MLA later made spot assessments of the drainage system and asked the accompanying TMB officials to undertake necessary works before the onset of rainy season. The MLA also instructed to demolish the boundary wall of one Gopal Kishan and to make it curved as it had resulted in traffic obstacle in the tri-junction with some major accidents already being reported in recent times. The MLA was accompanied by Dipti Das, chairperson TMB, JP Das, assistant engineer of TMB, Ratan Seal, ward commissioner and other officials and ward commissioners. The MLA, while assuring the residents of addressing all public grievances, also sought public support.
