Retired official of Health dept threatened

Jorhat, April 3: Sensation prevailed here after a gang of 40 crimils who have been blacklisted by the government for resorting to fraudulent measures to secure jobs under the Joint Director of Health Office establishment had allegedly threatened a retired health department official Dr. Anup Kr Bordoloi on April 2.

The gang threatened with verbal warning of killing the official and his family and setting on fire in his residence at Titabor on or before Bihu has created sensation in Jorhat. The retired health official, who was earlier in-charge of the post of the Joint Director of Health and a top member of the screening committee, constituted by the DC of Jorhat to trace illegal appointment in the multi-crore fake appointment case of the Health Department has filed an FIR at Titabor Police station in this regard.

Talking to this correspondent, Dr. Bordoloi said, “The gang that had almost 40 boys and one aged man for the case of appointment in the health department, came to my house on Thursday at 3 PM and first pleaded to talk to higher officials investigating the fake appointment case so that their mes would removed from the scam to ebling to draw salary. I told them that I am retired now and cannot do anything but they kept on insisting. Later when I told them to get out from my house, they resorted to verbal abuse and threatening. While all the others moved out, three I have identified in the first list, Pinku Bora, Ganesh Kalita and Dhrubo Jyoti Kalita who is also the son of a health department employee at the Malaria section. Guno Gobindo Kalita threatened me with dire consequences. Fearing for my life I have filed an FIR at Titabor police station and informed the Jorhat DC Solanki Vishal Vasant who assured me of all help. Earlier also this group went to the Chief Ministers Vigilance Cell office at Guwahati pleading their story while citing bank loans and their married life owing to the jobs they thought to be genuine”.

It must be mentioned that the multi-crore fake appointment case of the health department investigation by Deputy Superintendent of Police of the Chief Ministers Vigilance Cell is already over and the likelihood of an FIR by the CM Vigilance cell leading to arrest is on

the cards very soon. Fearing of this outcome, this group of crimils that claims patroge from ruling congress touts are getting frustrated every passing day and in an act of losing mental imbalance, are resorting to tactics to frighten people who are and were part of the screening committee.

The Officer in Charge of the Titabor Police Station informed, “Based on the FIR by Dr Bordoloi we have registered a case (no 73/2015)  under section  143, 448, 294 and 506 IPC against the crimils who threatened the retired official at his residence and we are increasing patrolling in and around Dr Bordoloi’s house. Our investigation is going on in this regard and once we get the written statement, we would arrest them soon.”
