Itagar, April 29: Rajiv Gandhi University has launched the University Industry Interface Cell (UIIC), one of the first Central Universities in the Country which has incorporated this cell. The primary objective of this cell is to help facilitate interface between the University and the Industry so that students get more exposure to the Industry which would help them develop their skills and in turn will increase their employability.
Arindam Garg, Associate Professor in the Department of Magement has been appointed as the Coorditor of the University Industry Interface Cell (UIIV).
As a first initiative of the UIIC, a one day workshop on “Campus to Corporate” was organized in the RGU campus today.
Vice Chancellor Professor Tamo Mibang while delivering the iugural workshop stressed on the importance of involving and engaging industry in various activities to improve the quality of education so that students are benefitted more.
The Workshop Director and Coorditor of the UIIC Arindam Garg enumerated on the theme and objectives of the workshop especially on the need of practical education to ensure effective linkage between academia and industry.
Garg explained how important it is for students to understand the expectations that the Industry has from fresh graduates as it will help in effective transition from campus to professiol life.
