ITAGAR, May 12: In yet another academic feats adding to the RGU's feather, the Department of Computer Science & Engineering has been granted All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) approval and recognition to conduct PG course (M.Tech) in CSE from the academic session 2016-17 onwards with a sanctioned intake of 18 students. This department is the only institute in the state which has been approved for PG course by the AICTE from the session 2016-17, a release said here on Wednesday. The department is endowed with excellent laboratory facilities, access to reputed jourls and experienced faculty, infrastructure like smart classrooms, girls' and boys' common rooms, CCTV for security especially for female students, first aid facility, career counseling facilities, rain water harvesting and a full-fledged canteen in the campus. RGU Vice Chancellor, Prof T Mibang has appreciated the achievement of the department and assured extension of support for any future endeavor. He said that with AICTE approval granted to the department, post graduate students with GATE scores will immensely benefit from MHRD based scholarships, in addition to other grants from AICTE in near future. The Deputy Registrar Academic Dr. David Pertin informed that a three-member high level visiting team visited the university and inspected the department during April 22 to 25 last for effecting the approval, and the much awaited and anticipated information from the AICTE office has been lately communicated on Wednesday evening.
