RGU to participate in zol convention

Itagar, Feb 15: The Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) conducted an Intra-University Students’ Research Convention at the EDUSAT Centre of the university on Tuesday, wherein young budding research scholars presented their research projects with high spirit of inquiry, creativity and innovativeness, with aptitude and interest in the field of research.

A total of four students have been shortlisted to represent RGU at the zol convention, “Anveshan: The East Zone Student Research Convention-2017”, organized by AIU at VBSPU, Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh on February 20 to 21, a press release informed here today.

The selected candidates, mely Tenzin Choephel, Taj Uddin Ahmed, Yab Nikum and Ram Kumar shall be entirely sponsored by the University for their trip to Jaunpur, and escorted by Director IQAC of RGU, Dr Kaushalendra Pratap. In his address, Professor Amitava Mitra encouraged the young researchers to take up the research works enthusiastically to achieve the target by making it a career with a view to contribute back to the society. Earlier, Coorditor of the Convention and RGU Deputy Registrar (Academic & Conference) Dr David Pertin highlighted on the programme and stressed on research activities. Informing that three RGU students had earlier successfully participated in the last edition of “Anveshan-2013”, held at TISS Mumbai, he expressed hope that the selected students would prove their mettle in the upcoming competition too.

The panel of experts included Professor Utpal Bhattacharjee, Professor D N Das, Professor S K Patik and Professor Otem Padung. The Chairperson of the convention was Dr Jumyir Basar, the release added.
