Rhino poached in KNP

GAON (HAIBORGAON), Feb 15:  A mature rhino was gunned down on Tuesday night near Tunikati forest beat under Burhapahar forest range in Kaziranga tiol Park (KNP) by suspected poachers who took away its horn. According to sources, forest guards and STF personnel on Tuesday night heard gunshots, following which they recovered the carcass of a hornless rhino on Wednesday morning from the nearby dense jungles of Tunikati beat. Blank cartridges of Ak-47 series rifle were found at the spot. A massive search operation has been launched to b the poachers in and around the park.
