Rice distributed under tiol Food Security Act at Howraghat

HOWRAGHAT, January 10: The tiol Food Security Act (NFSA) was officially launched in Karbi Anglong on Sunday.

In Howraghat Legislative Assembly constituency the NFSA was iugurated by Premala Beypi, EM, KAAC at Howraghat, Phulani, Tarabasa and Kangki Basti Large Area Multi Purpose Society (LAMPS) accompanied by Chandra Tamang, MAC, KAAC, Deori Lekthe, chairman, Ashok Hasnu, vice chairman, Sarjeng Engti, Ratan Saha ward commissioners of Howraghat HTC, Amardip Ronghang senior Congress leader and secretaries and chairmen of other LAMSPs under Howraghat LA constituency.

On the occasion, an open meeting was also held under the president ship of Dhaniram Kro, chairman, Howraghat LAMPS premises. While addressing the beneficiaries in the formal iugural meeting of NFSA, Premala Beypi said that the Congress government had done a lot for the people. Beypi said that Congress government was giving thrust on empowerment of women. Hence, the cards under NFSA had been given or allotted in the me of female heads of families. Beypi alleged that many historic schemes designed during the Congress government were stopped by the BJP government. But under the initiative of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, the schemes maged to continue in Assam, Beypi said.

Meanwhile, Beypi sought support from the people in the upcoming legislative assembly elections. Later, rice was distributed among the beneficiaries. Similarly, NFSA was officially iugurated by Beypi at  Phulani, Tarabasa and Kangki Basti, LAMPS.
