Rights of consumers discussed in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh, Dec 25: The tiol Consumer Protection Day was celebrated with daylong event at the District Consumer Court premises here. The theme of this year’s celebration was Food and Health Security. The event was presided over by the Judge of Dibrugarh Consumer Protection court, Dr Nityanda Das.

The Judge of Foreigners Tribul Court, Munindra th Chutia, attended the event as a chief guest, and deliberated his speech on the focal point of Consumer rights and security.

Speaking at the event, Dr Nityanda Das stated that consumers while purchasing food and other items should value and measure the goods and ask for receipts for the same.

Das further stated that the consumers at the given time must approach the Consumer Court for the gaining their remedial rights if the products or goods are defective.  The occasion was also graced by a number of distinguished lawyers who presented their respective views on the importance of tiol Consumer Rights Day. Several other guests and employees of the Consumer court also attended the event.

Earlier, simul Gani, an employee of the District Consumer protection Court laid down the objectives of the aforesaid event, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Jadav Gogoi.
