Ripun Bora to move SC against Dispur

GUWAHATI, June 22: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) vice president Ripun Bora today said that he would move the Supreme Court of India against the Assam Government for violation of the apex court’s verdict. Talking to newsmen in the city today, Bora said: “The apex court delivered its verdict on May 13, 2015 barring the publication of the photos of chief ministers and ministers in government advertisements. On March 18, 2016 the SC issued another verdict stating that the photographs of chief ministers and ministers cam be published in government advertisements, but not together in same advertisements. However, Dispur has violated this verdict by publishing the photograph of Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in an advertisement along with that of Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal. This is a contempt of court.”
