RMSA stresses strengthening civil works in Karbi Anglong

HOWRAGHAT, February 9: Keeping an aim to run schools smoothly, for proper utilization of government’s allocated development funds and to strengthen the civil works under Rashtriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhijan (RMSA), different types of training have been organized by RMSA, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC).

As a part of this, a two-day long training for members of the School Magement and Development Committees (SMDC) was conducted in various venues by Rashtriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhijan, KAAC since Monday.

According to official report, the SMDC training which started on Monday, was held at Howraghat English Medium High School, Phonglokpet High School and Bakalia Mailu Hindi High School in West Karbi Anglong concluded here on Tuesday.

During the two-day training, basically the members were imparted training on the topics of Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE), School Improvement Plan (SIP), Swachha Bharat Swachha Vidyalay Abhiyan, tiol Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF-vocatiol education), Inclusive Education for Disabled at School Stage (IEDSS), Infrastructure Development in School (Civil Works), Utilization of School Grants and duties of members as well as presidents and member secretaries of the SMDC.

While attending the two-day training held at Howraghat English Medium High School, Chandra Mohan Upadhyaya, key resource person (KRP) said on Tuesday that the same training will be organized from February 10 to February 11 at Borlangpher High School, RMSA Office, Diphu, Howraghat Tiniali Anchalik Bodo Medium High School and Kherani Girls’ High School, West Karbi Anglong respectively.

Besides, the same training will also be organized at Borjan High School, Bokajan, Bagori High School and Tengralangso High School, West Karbi Anglong on February 13 and February 14.  

RMSA laid stress on improving quality education. Comprehensive steps have been adopted to universalize quality education at secondary and higher stage. Besides, it is focused on quality infrastructure magement information system, curriculum development, learning resources, teacher qualification, competency, subject specific development in schools, in service training of teachers and heads of the school, academic support at all level, and classroom based support and supervision issues.

Another step taken by RMSA is improvement of equity. The expansion of secondary education is based on equity which is based on enrolment of students. Special emphasis has been given upon the socially disadvantaged groups like SC, ST, tea community and students below poverty line.
