Road construction work brings smiles in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh: After having been at the receiving end for quite a long time, the people of the town are finally heaving a sigh of relief at the sight of a road construction drive that has begun here.

Roads at several places including Panchali, Amolapatty, Mirzabagh, Chiring Chapori, Chowkidinghee and Gurudwara Road are being constructed. The residents and traders of these places, as well as the commuters in general, were having a hard time in light of the poor condition of the roads.

The pathetic state of the roads was not just making the sites accident-prone due to the wide potholes, but was also a source of air pollution marked primarily with dust. Similar construction work had previously been undertaken in certain areas like Chaulkhowa and Lalukagaon, which were also facing the problem of poor condition of roads.
