Road mishap at Rajmai

DEMOW, January 12: A road accident took place on Tuesday morning in Sivasagar district under Demow Police Station at Rajmai in front of the Rajmai Tea Estate gate in NH-37 road.

The accident took place between a Tata Magic and an i20 car.  A Tata Magic car (AS 04 G 1379) which was going from Rajmai to Sivasagar and an i20 car (AS 06 H 1055) coming from Sivasagar and going to Dibrugarh had a head-on collision due to which five persons were injured.

The passengers of the Tata Magic car - Rajib Gowala (17), Babu Ram Gowala (35) and Maanku Bhumij (20) reside near Rajmai market and are labourers and were going for work to Sivasagar. They were seriously injured and the two persons who were in the i20 car were also injured.

Among all the passengers of the Tata Magic car, the condition of Rajib Gowala is very serious. The local people reached the spot and took all of them to Demow Model Hospital. The local people of the area said that due to heavy fog in the morning the accident took place.
