Road mishaps

SHILLONG, May 2: A helper of the truck sustained injuries when a Shillong bound truck (AS19C –4971) from Guwahati hit a road divider and overturned on the side of the road at Shangbangla under Umling Block, Ri Bhoi District. The incident happened on the Monday at 4.12 am. The victim identified as Sohidul Islam (22) was later shifted to Nongpoh Civil Hospital. In another incident proceeding back home to Dalawangre from Chibing, a motorist along with the pillion rider fell off from the motorbike after it skidded on a turning at Morongre in West Garo Hills district.

The victims identified as Nengrik Marak (24) and the pillion rider Churik Marak (22) was shifted to Phulbari CHC. The incident happened on Sunday at 9.51 pm.

Meanwhile, Bishnu Hajong (28) fell off from his motorbike and sustained injuries. The incident happened at Chandmari under Rongram Block, West Garo Hills on Sunday at 7.44 pm. However the victim Bishnu Hajong was later shifted to Tura Civil Hospital.

In another motorbike related road mishap, a motorist along with the pillion rider fell off from the motorbike and sustained injuries.

The incident happened at Mendisoksan under Resubelpara Block, North Garo Hills District on the Sunday at 5.42 pm.

The victims identified as Sanjoy Marak (50) and Augustine Marak (40) was shifted to Resubelpara CHC.
