Road Safety Week at Bongaigaon

Abhayapuri, Jan 12: The 27th Road Safety Week is being observed at Borpara bus station in Bongaigaon district from January 10. The event was attended by social activists Prabhat Vaishb and Shyaman rayan Dev, DTO Abdul Masjid and Executive Director of BRPL Khongir. The meeting held on the occasion was presided over by Bongaigaon Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu. The meeting was organised to make people aware of the different problems faced by commuters and to sensitize the drivers about traffic rules. Some of the drivers were felicitated with certificates and mementoes. The Bongaigaon district DTO Abdul Masjid said that the accidents caused due to steady increase of vehicles on the roads.
