Road Safety Week in Dima Hasao concludes

Haflong, May 1: The National Highway Authority of India, Haflong Project Implementing Unit successfully observed the 29th Road Safety Week with the support of Supervision  Consultant, M/s ICT Pvt. Ltd. and contractors M/s NKC-JKM(JV), M/s Laxmi Motors and M/s HCC Ltd from April 23 to April 30. The various activities carried out during the Road Safety Week included awareness campaign, pamphlet distribution, inspection of road safety measures during construction, awareness campaign in Saron High School, Mahur, medical camp, display of banners, and enforcement drive for proper driving. This was possible due to the combined effort of a team led by Karge Kamki, Project Director, NHAI PIU Haflong.

The primary focus of the Road Safety Week was to generate public awareness regarding road safety and proper road safety measures. It was properly ensured that road safety was given full priority while construction activities were being carried out. The awareness campaign at Saron High School in Mahur was very encouraging. The students and the staff took full participation in the awareness programme conducted by M/s NKC-JKM(JV). A medical campaign was also held at their camp where the Project Director, PIU Haflong, was also present. Physical check-up of the drivers riding through the national highway was done.
