Robbers arrested by Sivasagar Police

JOYSAGAR: Sivasagar Police, with the help of Nazira Police, arrested as many as five notorious robbers from Mornoi Kinar gaon of Sivasagar and from Mezanga gaon of Nazira on Saturday night. The Police launched a search operation against the robbers of Saturday night and were able to apprehend five robbers of the gang while seven others managed to flee. In this operation, two vehicles (AS-04-N-0150 and AS-04-F-1694), allegedly used by the robbers, were recovered by the police team.

Police also recovered some cash along with sharp weapons and other objectionable articles from the possessions of the arrested robbers. The arrested robbers were identified as Jubed Hussain (Mornoi Kinar), Jehirul Hussain (Mezanga), Biki Sing (Nazira), Billal Hussain (Mezanga) and Ajanta Gogoi of NH-37, Sivasagar. All the arrested robbers were brought to the Sadar PS where top officers are quizzing them for more information, sources added.
