Robbers loot cash, jewellery in Hojai

Hojai , Feb 2: As many as three masked robbers struck at a house at Milick Basti in Hojai late Monday. Around 2 am, the robbers sneaked into the house from the rear side by breaking the door to the veranda of the house. They sprayed some substance on the people in the house that made them unconscious. The robbers then looted around Rs 2.50 lakh cash, two mobile handsets and orments. From the family members’ statements, Shivji Choudhary’s daughter is getting married next month and he had been making necessary arrangements for the wedding by buying jewellery. Property worth around Rs 5 lakh was looted, said family members.
