Robbers loot jewellery & cash at gunpoint

BISWATH CHARIALI, March 22:  Robbers injured two people and looted cash and valuables at gun point from a family last night at Baghmari village under Zinjinia police station near here, police said today. The incident took place last night  when a group of 11 robbers attacked small tea grower Thuleswar Saikia and his younger son Ratul Saikia with knives when they tried to resist the robbery in their house, a police official said. Police said they were injured in the attack. "The family  informed  us that the robbers looted their cash Rs 2.5 lakh and jewellery," said the police official. The robbers escaped from the after the incident, police said.
