Role of women in developed society highlighted

GAON, March 8: With a day-long programme, the district administration observed Intertiol Women’s Day in the District Library auditorium hall on Sunday. Deputy Commissioner of gaon, Molisha Goswami, in her welcome address highlighted the importance of Women’s Day for the greater development of an integrated modern society. Minister for DRDA and Agriculture Rokibul Hussain also graced the occasion as the chief guest. He emphasized justice and equality for both sexes. He also laid stress on the role of women in a developed society. “We should respect and honour women if we want our society to develop,” said Hussain. He felicitated various women SHGs of the district. Noted advocate Drubajyoti Sarma and Professor DrSabrin Ahmed also took part in the programme.
