HOWRAGHAT, May 5: Along with the rest of the State, Rongali Bihu celebration continues in Karbi Anglong hill district with great enthusiasm.
In Howraghat, Rongali Bihu programme started on Friday at Sankar Mandir playground. The 54th Rongali Utsav, 2018, began with hoisting of flag in the morning by Biren Engti, president of the Rongali Bihu celebration committee.
On the other hand, smriti tarpan programme was initiated by Minu Bora, former president, Lekhika Samaroh Samiti, Howraghat unit and swahid tarpan was done by by Manoranjan Sen, president of Howraghat Sahitya Sabha.
In the morning, the stall exhibiting traditional dresses of various communities was officially opened by local MAC and EM for Health and Family Welfare Department, KAAC, Khonsing Rongpi. Various competitions were held and the souvenir Jetuka was also released on the occasion.
