Ronghang presents Rs 1,219.30 lakh deficit budget

HOWRAGHAT, March 19:  Tuliram Ronghang, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) presented a deficit budget of Rs 1,219.30 lakh for “inherent departments” for the fincial year 2015-16 in the 221st KAAC session recently. In his budget speech, Ronghang informed the House that the estimated expenditure for the fincial year would be Rs 21,089.90 lakh against the total receipt of Rs 19,870.60 resulting in the clear deficit of Rs 1,219.30 lakh.  He reiterated that the present resource of revenue of KAAC would not be sufficient to meet the expenditure.
