Rowing of boats in Brahmaputra banned

Biswath Chariali, 19th March: To take up security measures to protect the Kaziranga tiol Park (KNP) the district administration of Sonitpur has banned the rowing of boats near the area during the night time. District Magistrate Lalit Gogoi passed the order to prohibit boats and ferries from rowing in the night time to morning in any of the water bodies that may connect to Kaziranga. According to sources, prohibitory orders have also been passed against the entrance of any people in the area at night. However, these orders are not applicable to the forest officials and employees, as well as the police.
